Last Advances of Climate Resilience in Forest Practices
Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In recent years, the climate resilience in forests has gained more attention. The impact of climate change on planted forests and how to enhance their resilience and adaptation to such changes. Plantations play a vital role in forest landscape restoration and carbon capture, but they are also more susceptible to climate change due to their lack of tree species diversity and higher vulnerability to pests, diseases, and invasive species. The special issue invites contributions on advances in understanding the impacts of climate change on plantations, as well as possible solutions to enhance their resilience and adaptation. Topics of interest include global and regional case studies of climate change mitigation and adaptation in plantations, tree species diversity and resilience, site-appropriate and climate-smart forest management approaches, mechanisms of the underlying ecology of forest resilience, detected changes in plantations beyond current knowledge, and scenario projections for the future of planted forest management.
