Satellite Geodesy and Applications
Special Issue Information
Since the 1950s, the development of satellite systems has led to the evolution of satellite geodesy. In the last decades, a wealth of data is archived by different measurement techniques and used in various applications such as the implementation of modern reference systems, positioning, navigation, gravity field estimation and earth observation. Also, new topics such as the installation of low-cost sensors as well as the analysis of data in real time are at their cutting edge.
Therefore, this special issue ‘Satellite Geodesy and Applications’ aims to present the advancements and intends to collect the achievements of research and applications related to the field of satellite geodesy:Indicatively, some specific topics of the Special Issue include but are not limited to are:
- Satellite geodetic measurement techniques
- Precise satellite orbit determination
- Earth's gravitational attraction on satellite motion
- Precise Point Positioning and ambiguity resolution strategies.
- Permanent GNSS networks and regional/national reference frame applications
- Low-cost sensors installation for positioning and navigation
- Real time GNSS data analysis and applications.
- Applications of satellite altimetry
- Free and open source routines and software.
