Special Issue Information

Advancing green technology innovation is an important pathway to mitigate climate change, reduce environmental pollution, and achieve sustainable development. Green technology innovation has characteristics such as long research and development cycles, high requirements, significant investments, high risks, and complexity. However, in the face of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, anti-globalization, and other exacerbating factors, the world economy, especially developing countries, is facing increasingly severe challenges of economic growth pressure, environmental improvement, and achieving sustainable development. Economic growth pressure may have a significant impact on government actions, leading to distortions in the allocation of production factors and resources, affecting green technology innovation, economic development patterns, and sustainable development. The tradeoff and synergy between economic growth pressure, green technology innovation, and sustainable development are worth studying. Therefore, addressing how to promote green technology innovation and advance sustainable development under different economic growth conditions and stages is an important scientific issue. Hence, we propose launching a special issue on economic growth pressure, green technology innovation, and sustainable development.
