The business environment of the 21st century has brought many challenges that have changed economic systems and organisational structures. Technological developments, geopolitical conflicts and rapid changes in global markets have created uncertainty to which organisations need to adapt. The macro-environment and existing organisational structures play an important role in shaping the adoption and integration of new technologies. The aim of this special issue is to examine the complexity of economic systems and organisational change in the context of technological development and persistent uncertainties (crises, wars, demographic challenges, inflation, low economic growth, etc.) and to present the results of related business and economics research.
