Dear Colleagues,

 

This Special Issue focuses on the broad and highly challenging topic of “Recent Advances in Social and Environmental Responsibility While Addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”. The purpose of this Special Issue is to present the most recent situation of these broad and ambitious aims in the form imagined by the United Nations in 2015, having in mind the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. These days, individuals, communities, and entities worldwide are becoming more and more focused on sustainable economic development activities and practices, being keen on improving the quality of life, raising the level of happiness and well-being, and dedicating themselves to preserving the resources and the environment for the present and future generations alike. What is more, sustainability for businesses (the big corporations as well as the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs)) is becoming a focal point for international researchers and specialists being preoccupied with aspects such as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and activities that are aligned with respecting and preserving the environment, communities, and workforce.         

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but not limited to) the following: social and environmental responsibility in business; environmental and social management; achieving excellence in business activities while addressing the challenges derived from acting socially and environmentally responsible; globalization and the changes and challenges encountered by the Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs); corporate and social entrepreneurship; intellectual capital; intellectual property; women entrepreneurs and their education and development potential in accordance with acting responsibly in business; entrepreneurship in developed and developing countries; entrepreneurial behavior in large organizations and SMEs; innovation best practices; research and development; international networks and partnerships; policy and regulatory frameworks for a green economy; and the importance and role of circular economy for a better future for all.
