Geoenvironmental Aspects of the Problem and Methods of Preservation
Special Issue Information
Specialists having experience in the conservation of a historic building representing cultural heritage are invited to participate in the publication: architects, geographers, surveyors, geological engineers, geotechnical monitoring specialists. Preference will be given to studies that consider the integration nature of the problem of preserving a historical settlement in a complex of tasks: the urban planning regulations, environmental management, the hazard of geological processes, and the study of paleorelief. In addition to the buildings of cultural heritage, it is suggested to include the following in the subject of the historical settlement preservation: cultural layer, archaeological sites, protected urban landscape and monuments of garden art.
The most interesting aspects to be considered in the conservation methods improvement: assessment of the hazard of geological processes and changes in hydrogeological conditions, assessment of vulnerability and engineering protection of buildings, structures and territories. It would be desirable to consider the experience of developing a Unified City Monitoring Fund, which would integrate data on geological processes, groundwater levels, land subsidence, deformation processes of cultural heritage sites.
