Housing and the Economy

Special Issue Information
The role of housing markets in the economy is complex and important. Therefore, it cannot be neglected.
Changes in house prices, rents, and mortgage interest rates affect households' income and wealth, as well as how much money they spend and on what. Housing costs and policies also shape where people chose to live, work and study, as well as their ability to move or change jobs.
Therefore, it is essential to provide economic and policy insights on housing solutions that are beneficial to families and the economy alike.
The Special issue "Housing and the Economy" provides a forum for the publication of economic research (both theoretical and empirical) related to important housing-related issues. It covers a wide range of topics and approaches that constitute housing and real estate economics.
The papers can be theoretical or empirical, and the approach can be based on a case study, policy, comparative or institutional analysis. We welcome contributions from all disciplines and schools of thought in the social sciences and the humanities.
