At the board of directors of the Japanese Dermatological Association, Fukumi Furukawa, MD, PhD, Editor-in-chief of Trends in Immunotherapy (TI), was selected as the winner of the Master of Dermatology in 2022. The award ceremony and commemorative lecture will be held at the 121st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Dermatological Association in June. The reason for the award is “a series of studies on the elucidation of the pathogenic mechanism and establishment of treatment methods for cutaneous lesions of lupus erythematosus”. The “Master of Dermatology” is an award that pays homage to a Japanese dermatologist who has made significant contributions to the development of dermatology, such as clinical dermatology, dermatology research, human resource development, and social contribution. One person is honored every year. It was founded in 2010 and has been the current name since 2017.
