Guidelines on Self-Citation Rates for Submissions

The editorial office appreciates the interest and support for Sustainable Forestry. As authors prepare to submit their manuscripts, they are advised to pay attention to the following guidelines regarding self-citation rates:

Self-Citation Norms: The self-citation rate in their manuscripts should be kept within a reasonable range. It is recommended that the self-citation rate does not exceed 10% (specific value can be set based on the article's quality).

Diversity of Citations: Authors are encouraged to prioritize citing other relevant research in the field to promote academic exchange and knowledge dissemination. A high self-citation rate may affect the review and publication of their manuscripts.

Review Process: During the review process, the editorial office will monitor the self-citation rate of manuscripts. If an excessively high self-citation rate is found, the authors may first be requested to make adjustments.

The editorial office hopes that these measures will enhance the academic quality and impact of the journal. They appreciate the understanding and compliance of authors with these guidelines.
