Prof. Dmitry Ponomarev

Professor Dmitry Ponomarev was educated from Department of Chemistry St.Petersburg State University. Since that time he works as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and the last 20 years as a Full Professor in State Forest Technical University. His teaching activity includes lectures and seminars in such disciplines as Organic Chemistry, Chemistry of Terpenes, Environmental Chemistry and others. Nowadays he works with students of the Department of Forestry.  

He was invited to give lectures in University of Helsinki, University of Joensuu and University of Turku (all Finland). In 2001 he had a semiannual internship in the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry, Ford Motor Co (Dearborn, USA).

At present scientific work of Dmitry Ponomarev is focused on chemical valorization of wood and wood wastes especially for production of liquid biofuels and charcoal.

He is an author of about 150 publications on the field of organic thermochemistry and wood chemistry.
