Introduction: Climate change poses significant challenges globally, necessitating the development and implementation of effective strategies for adaptation, mitigation, and resilience. This special issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research on strategies that address climate change from multiple angles. By exploring diverse approaches, we seek to advance our understanding of effective strategies and foster dialogue to inform climate action.

Research Goal: The overarching research goal of this special issue is to advance knowledge and explore innovative strategies for adaptation, mitigation, and resilience in the face of climate change. The issue aims to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to share insights, empirical findings, and case studies that contribute to the development of robust and practical strategies.

Themes and Topics:

1. Climate Change Adaptation Strategies:

· Assessment of adaptation measures and practices in different sectors, such as agriculture, water resources, and coastal areas.

· Evaluation of the effectiveness of nature-based solutions and policy-driven adaptation strategies.

· Analysis of community-based and participatory approaches to enhance local adaptive capacity.

· Examination of the barriers and opportunities for implementing and scaling up adaptation strategies.

2. Climate Change Mitigation Strategies:

· Exploration of innovative approaches to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in energy, transportation, and industrial sectors.

· Evaluation of the just transition, effectiveness and co-benefits of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable land use practices.

· Analysis of policy interventions and market mechanisms that facilitate the transition to low-carbon economies.

· Investigation of behavioral and societal changes for sustainable consumption and lifestyles.

3. Climate Resilience Building:

· Understanding the concept of climate resilience and its integration into decision-making processes.

· Analysis of resilience-building measures at various scales, from individual communities to national and international levels.

· Evaluation of ecosystem-based approaches and nature-based solutions for enhancing climate resilience.

· Examination of the economic, social, and environmental implications of resilience-building strategies.

4. Resilient Water Governance for Just and Sustainable Water Management in a Changing Climate:

· Exploration of equity, fairness, and inclusiveness in water allocation, access, and distribution.

· Analysis of water governance frameworks, policies, and institutions for sustainable water management.

· Evaluation of participatory approaches and community engagement in water governance and decision-making.

· Examination of the implications of climate change for water justice and effective water governance.

Submission Guidelines: We invite original research articles, review papers, and case studies that contribute to the research goal and address the themes outlined above. Manuscripts should provide valuable insights, empirical evidence, theoretical advancements, or practical applications related to strategies for adaptation, mitigation, and resilience of climate change. Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary contributions are particularly encouraged.

Conclusion: This special issue aims to promote knowledge exchange, collaboration, and critical thinking on strategies for adaptation, mitigation, and resilience of climate change. By exploring diverse approaches and topics, we aim to advance the understanding of effective strategies and facilitate informed climate action. We invite researchers and practitioners from various disciplines to contribute their work to this special issue, fostering an interdisciplinary dialogue and contributing to the collective efforts in addressing the challenges of climate change.
