Special Issue Information

For more than 30 years, the United Nations Framework Convention on climate change has been committed to solving this problem on a global scale. The consequences of climate change are serious, leading to drought, food shortages and other extreme weather events. In this regard, we must recognize how climate change is changing and formulate strategies to mitigate climate change.

In the field of environmental economics or energy economics, previous studies focused on renewable energy development, sustaining economic development, preserving social welfare programs, enhancing social development, or advancing technological innovation. However, there few studies focus on the interaction mechanism of renewbale energy, green finance and economic development.

In this regard, it is important to provide innovative, significant, and economically viable solutions for emerging economies' sustainable development. The readers of this Research Topic will acquire insights about: 1) how green finance policies should tackle energy technological challenges under climate change in order to achieve sustainable social development? 2) how can green finance policies and crises-induced technological innovations improve economic development under climate change conditions? 3) how the general society will respond and behave under uncertain climate change conditions?

Specifically, this research theme will include theoretical research aimed at balancing dynamic economic development, social consequences and technological innovation, empirical research to test the link between theory and reality, and case studies to explore the effectiveness and efficiency of existing policies. We are interested in quantitative or qualitative original research articles, systematic reviews, and case studies worldwide.

Themes in this Research Topic include but are not limited to the following areas:

1. Spatial-temporal evolution of green finance policy on renewbale energy innovation.

2. Renewable energy and Non-renewable energy and its social and environmental consequences in Emerging Economies.

3. Drive factors of green finance on renewable energy technological innovations in Emerging Economies.

4. Renewables, green finance and their impact on overcoming climate change.

5. Energy technological innovations in the transportation, manufacturing, and sustainable business practices and their economic consequences.

6. Theoretical formulation and empirical investigation of green finance policy under climate change.
