Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Biomass is a renewable resource that can be converted into a variety of valuable bioproducts, including fuels, chemicals, and materials. Biomass conversion is a complex process that involves a variety of chemical reactions. The efficiency of biomass conversion can be improved by using new chemical strategies. The use of nanotechnology is also a promising area for improving biomass conversion. Nanoparticles can be used to enhance the reactivity of biomass, and they can also be used to separate and purify bioproducts.

This Special Issue will explore the latest chemical strategies for valorizing biomass to bioproducts.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • The role of chemistry in understanding the mechanisms of biomass conversion

  • The development of new chemical processes for biomass conversion

  • The use of  nanotechnology to improve biomass conversion

  • The development of new strategies for the separation and purification of      bioproducts

  • Optimization of the extraction methods for biomass by-products valorisation
