Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We invite researchers from academia and industry to contribute their original research articles, reviews, and perspectives on the latest advancements in geopolymer composites for sustainable water and air treatment. The special issue aims to foster collaborations and exchange knowledge to drive innovations in the field of environmental materials and technologies.

"Advanced Geopolymer Composites for Sustainable Water and Air Treatment". This special issue aims to explore the development of advanced geopolymer-based composites for sustainable water and air treatment applications. Geopolymers, ceramic materials, and non-metallic materials have gained significant attention in recent years due to their excellent mechanical, thermal, and chemical properties. This special issue focuses on the synthesis, characterization, and application of geopolymer composites in water and air treatment processes. Topics of interest may include, but are not limited to:

1. Synthesis and optimization of geopolymer-based composites for water and air treatment

2. Characterization techniques for assessing the properties of geopolymer composites

3. Novel approaches for enhancing the adsorption and catalytic properties of geopolymer-based materials

4. Application of geopolymer composites in wastewater treatment, including removal of heavy metals, organic pollutants, and emerging contaminants

5. Utilization of geopolymer materials for air purification, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs) removal and air filtration

6. Integration of geopolymer composites with other materials (e.g., activated carbon, metal oxides) for enhanced water and air treatment performance

7. Environmental sustainability and life cycle assessment of geopolymer-based water and air treatment systems

8. Techno-economic analysis and scalability of geopolymer composite production for large-scale water and air treatment applications.
