Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

A global generation of agrowaste biomass amounted about 120 Gt annually. In order to minimize lignocellulosic waste, there is a urgent demand for highly efficient utilization of this type of waste. It is well known that these materials consists of a various funcional groups such as hydroxyl, carbonyl, phoshate, amino and thiol grups which is suitable for interaction with heavy metals and other pollutants. In order to increase adsorption ability a different modification methods should be applied. Special attention is directed towards chemical modification and conversion of biomass.

The special issue will focus on publishing the original research papers related to the Lignocellulosic Biomass and their modification to produce a novel, functional adsorbents of different pollutants. Experimental research for high-quality adsorbents production, process modeling and assessment for system evaluation, and reviewing works for the summary of the state of art research are all welcome.
