Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

An immediate worldwide reaction to global warming and related environmental challenges must exist. Recognized as “energy conservation” and “low-carbon” technologies with the potential to revolutionize energy generation and consumption, renewable (solar) energy technologies have emerged as a vital answer to this challenge and a tool to accomplish sustainable development goals in most nations. This special issue aims to investigate this opportunity by compiling a wide range of issues pertinent to the energy transition, focusing on analyzing the challenges and potentials along this path to present the most relevant and actionable advice to policymakers.

The potential of solar energy to stabilize the climate is discussed in depth in this special issue, along with the latest developments in this field, including breakthroughs in modeling, analysis, and the design of solar-based systems. Many articles in this special issue will discuss various concerns about solar energy and climate change. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

The latest developments in solar cell technology and the possibilities for improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of solar energy.

Solar thermal technologies and their potential uses in various fields, including energy production and industrial operations, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and slow global warming.

The potential of solar-powered transportation in mitigating climate change.

Modeling the integration of solar energy into smart grids.

Adequate financing instruments and the management of system integration to PV deployment.

Recent research papers and state-of-the-art evaluations on the potential of solar energy technology in combating climate change are welcome. The expected contributions from you are eagerly anticipated.
