Work history:

Nuo Yang was born in Inner Mongolia, China in 1978. He focuses on basic and applied research in the field of phonon engineering. In 2000, he received his BACHELOR degree from the Department of Modern Physics, University of Science and Technology of China. He received his MASTER degree from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. In 2008, he received his Ph. D. degree from the Department of Physics, National University of Singapore under the supervision of Academician Bao-wen Li. From 2009 to 2011, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Physics, National University of Singapore (NUS) and department of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From 2012 to 2013, he served as a Doctoral supervisor of School of Physical Science and Engineering, Tongji University. Since 2014, he has been the Doctoral supervisor of School of Energy and Power Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In 2016, he was awarded the Visiting Scholar Program of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) (about 1/3 of the global applicants won  that year), and visited the School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Tokyo for a short time.

Prof. Nuo Yang has published papers more than 70, and 1800 citations, H value is 28. His research interests mainly but not limited to theories, simulations and measurement of phonon engineering, which includes thermal transport, thermal modulation, thermal device and engineering application.
