Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The study of spatial patterns is the main emphasis of landscape, which aims to understand how changing landscapes impact on environmental processes. Due to the significant spatial component of this scientific discipline's analysis, remote sensing technologies are a key source of tools and data. In order to map spatially explicit variables that may be processed and evaluated using various geospatial methodologies, optical and radar remote sensing imagery is essential. Due to the growing processes of environmental change on a worldwide scale, such as biodiversity loss and land use change, this strong connection is becoming more significant study.

Research papers detailing cutting-edge studies on the use of remote sensing technology from any platform (satellite, airplane, drones, etc.) to explore landscape issues are invited for publication in this open access Special Issue. Topics that could be covered include, but are not limited to: mapping of landscape processes under change dynamics, techniques for observing ecosystem processes, the effects of scale on observing landscape properties, new methods for analysing remote sensing data, and methods for evaluating socio-ecological landscapes. It is also important to do research that combines active and passive remote sensing techniques.
