I have been working as a lead researcher in the field of acoustics, vibration, ultrasonic, electrical, mechanical and medical measurements at TÜBİTAK UME (National Metrology Institute) since 1993. I am the founder of the Medical Metrology Research Laboratory and I am responsible for the work in health metrology at UME.

 

I have participated and successfully completed 3 projects in various periods in 7th Framework and Horizon 2020 program. I have prepared number of book sections, refereeing tasks in congresses and journals, and numerous scientific publications at national and international level. I have served as referee and adviser in TUBITAK TARAL (national funding) projects. I have participated and organized national and international congresses as invited speakers, organizers of sessions and presidencies in congresses. I have chaired the Turkish Acoustic Society.

 

I am a member of the IEEE MeMeA (Medical Measurements and Applications) steering committee, and I will take part in the regulatory committee of the symposium to be held in Rome in 2018. I will organize this symposium as the general president in Istanbul in 2019 with my own suggestion.

 

As a proposer and member of the Health Working Group set up at EURAMET (European Metrological Centers Association), I am actively involved in the organization, programming and strategy preparation of all projects. I am Turkish representative of the EURAMET TC-AUV (Acoustic, Ultrasonic and Vibration) Ultrasonic section. I am an active member of IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission)'s TC87 Ultrasonics group.

 

I am married and have two children. I run regularly and completed numerous distance runs, half marathons and 2 marathons (42,2 km) in order to collect donations for my graduate university, METU (Middle East technical University).
