Vaishnavi Pattabiraman graduated with an MSc in Biotechnology from Bharathiar
University, India; MS in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Emory University, USA
and MPH in Epidemiology from Georgia State University, USA. She is currently a
Microbiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA. Her
research interests are in the whole genome level and antimicrobial resistance
characterization of foodborne outbreak related pathogens such as Enterotoxigenic E.
coli, Enteropathogenic E.coli, etc,. by the application of next generation
sequencing methods. Additionally she has epidemiological research interests in
determination of risk factors for Chronic Hepatitis C Virus Infection, one of the
most common blood borne infections.
