Dr. Bonginkosi Eric Mthembu is working as a Head of Department of Community Extension, Faculty of Natural Sciences at Mangosuthu University of Technology, Durban in KwaZulu Natal Province, South Africa where he teaches Field Crop Production, Soil Science, Land Use Planning and Extension. He obtained a Ph.D (Agric) at the University of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. He was awarded scholarship to study in USA where he obtained MSc. (Plant & Soil) and MSc (Agric. Educ) degrees in North Carolina A & T State University. Prior to pursuing studies in USA, Dr Mthembu worked as an Agricultural Extension Officer and then as an Agricultural Scientist in the Department of Agriculture at Eshowe, KwaZulu Natal Province, South Africa for about six (6) years, after obtaining B Agric (Hons) qualification at University of Fort Hare, South Africa. My expertise are in Agriculture with specific in the following broader Fields of Study: Crop Science, Soil Science, Land Use Planning, Cropping Systems, Agricultural Extension. My research study and interest are inĀ Cropping systems; Land use and Management; Sustainable Food Systems; Soil fertility; Agroecology, Agricultural extension; Remote sensing agriculture; Carbon farming; Field experimentation; Conservation agriculture; Climate change, Carbon sequestration; Precision Agriculture and all these provide unique contribution to climate smart agriculture related technologies which are indispensable for climate change mitigating measures and climate change adaptation. Furthermore, these are crucial for the meaningful contribution and achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). I participate in the Peer Review Processes for various Journals. These Journals are Accredited and published by renowned Journal Publishers such as, Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, Springer Nature, MDPI, etc. I have conducted 92 Reviews of 59 Manuscripts from the 2018 to 2023 Period.
