Prof. Simone Carmignato

Simone Carmignato – Full professor of Manufacturing Technologies at the University of Padova.
He obtained an MSc with the highest honours (110/110 cum laude) in Mechanical Engineering, in Padova, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering, in joint supervision between Padova and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). He spent study and research periods in international Universities and Research Centres, including Boston University and the German National Metrology Institute (PTB), and was a visiting professor at DTU.
Responsible for teaching assignments in Production Technologies, Additive Manufacturing, Quality and Metrology in Manufacturing. Supervisor of MSc and PhD students in Industrial Engineering. Board member of the University of Padova Language Centre.
Author of books, patents and over 300 international scientific publications. Chairman, organizer, keynote speaker and scientific committee member for national and international conferences. Editorial board member and associate editor of international scientific journals. Responsible and coordinator of international interlaboratory comparisons, research projects and contract work with industry.
Active member of: International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP Fellow), European Society for Precision Engineering and Nanotechnology (EUSPEN), International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO), International Organization for Standardization (ISO/TC 213/WG 10), Italian Association of Manufacturing Technologies (AITEM).
He received national and international awards, including the 'Taylor Medal' from CIRP, the 'Young Researcher Award' from AITEM, and the 'Best Teacher Award' from the Management Engineering degree course at the University of Padova.
