Dr. Fatemeh Kabirian,
KU Leuven, Belgium
Dr. Fatemeh Kabirian is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences at KU Leuven, Belgium. She received her PhD in Biomaterials Engineering in 2019 from the Materials and Energy Research Center in Iran. Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious FWO Postdoctoral Fellowship in Belgium, financially sponsoring her research for a three-year period (270,000 Euros).
Her research interests lie in the area of 3D/4D/bioprinting of biomaterials, the development of drug delivery systems, and the integration of such systems into additively manufactured biomaterials. Since 2019, she has been an active Review Editor for the journals "Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology" and "Frontiers in Biomaterials Science." In addition to her editorial contributions, she has significantly contributed to the scientific community by conducting 121 peer reviews. In recognition of her dedication and expertise, her efforts were acknowledged with a prestigious 'Top Reviewers in Materials Science' award in September 2018, verified on the Web of Science website. These experiences reflect her commitment to advancing knowledge in biomaterials engineering, and I am enthusiastic about contributing further to the field through my role on the editorial board of journal of Frontiers in Smart Manufacturing.
