Has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Industrial Engineering from the Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões - URI (2008). Earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on aeronautical structures from the São Carlos School of Engineering, University of São Paulo - EESC/USP (2012). Completed a dual-degree Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on aeronautical structures from the São Carlos School of Engineering, University of São Paulo - EESC/USP, and in Engineering Science from the Faculty of Engineering Science, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven - KU Leuven (2016). Participated in the PDSE - Foreign Sandwich Ph.D. Program. Has been an associate professor at the University of the State of Santa Catarina UDESC since 2016. In 2016, received an Honorable Mention for the ABCM-EMBRAER 2016 Award in the Ph.D. Thesis category in the field of engineering. In 2017, organized MecSol2017 (6th International Symposium on Solid Mechanics) and served as the Coordinator of the Composite Materials Symposium at MecSol2017. In 2023, served as Co-chair of the 2nd Ibero-American Conference on Composite Materials (IAMaC2023). Has published more than 130 scientific articles in journals and conference proceedings. Currently serves as a reviewer for over 70 journals and is a member of the Editorial Board for International Journals (Frontiers in Aerospace Engineering and Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Biomechanics). Was a Guest Editor for the LAJSS Special Issue of the International Symposium on Solid Mechanics - MecSol2017 (2018). Has expertise in the field of Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Aeronautical Structures and Mechanics and Dynamics of Solid, Elastic, and Plastic Bodies, primarily working on the following topics: development of a structural health monitoring (SHM) system, NDT methods applied to SHM systems, theoretical and experimental studies of structures with smart materials, determination of effective coefficients, adhesive joints, uncertainties associated with the manufacturing process, finite elements, solid mechanics, vibration reduction/isolation.
