Rakhimova Y.'s research interest lies in ultrastructure of the interaction between fungi and their host plants, diversity of fungi, Biology of fungi and Phytopathogenical fungi.
Over the course of her scientific career, she has written more than 200 scientific papers, and published 10 monographs. Taking into account the needs of scientists and students in modern determinants, including new species found in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, based on modern systems of fungi and feeding plants and illustrated with photographs of the appearance of plant damage and microscopic structures of fungi, she published the determinants together with the laboratory collective ("Brief illustrated determinant mealy mushrooms of Kazakhstan and border areas "(2014), " Brief illustrated determinant of rust fungi of Kazakhstan "(2015).
