Mohd Sajjad Ahmad Khan obtained his Ph.D. in Agricultural Microbiology from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India. He is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the department of Biology, College of Medicine, Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, Dammam, KSA. He has experience of working in Microbiology and applied research projects and teaching at graduate and postÂgraduate levels. His thrust area of current research work includes novel drug discovery by exploitation of natural products for their novel anti-infective activity against drug-resistant pathogenic bacteria and fungi especially Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus focusing on anti-biofilm activity. Also, investigating antimicrobial mode of action of novel compounds including nanoparticles by targeting genetic/phenotypic expression of virulence factors, biofilms, cell wall biosynthesis, cell membrane integrity and other enzymatic pathways
