University professor with biomedical research experience in proteomics and industrial protein engineering. Currently affiliated with the University of Leeds UK, Ain Shams University and few biotech corporations in Europe. Started career in plant molecular genetics, then moved into structural protein engineering and industrial production of recombinant proteins. Developed micro-fabricated solid-phase in-vitro protein expression platforms for automated drug discovery; currently used by the bio-pharmaceutical industry. Created MALDI-tissue imaging protocols for the large-scale screening of cancer biomarkers, in human tissue microarrays. Currently involved in multiple biotech industry initiatives; for the early detection of cancer in humans.
